Radishes and their greens provide an excellent source of vitamin C.  Radish leaves  contain almost six times the vitamin C content of their root and are also a good source of calcium.Radish vary in color from white to black.
Radish is a member of the Cruciferae Radishes were a common food in Egypt before the building of the pyramids and is one of our most ancient cultivated plants.Generally commercial radishes are approximately 2 cm in diameter and are either red or white.
In theWest, the radish is commonly seen as a small-rooted, short-season vegetable normally consumed in salads
